This has been a good productive week again! The tile has been laid down on the floor areas and grouted. The bathrooms are moving along nicely except for the master bath which is waiting on some of the little detail tiles. But this let the guys focus on the floors and get them done so we can get the trim carpentry team working in parallel next week.
They spent the most time on the largest area- the kitchen, breakfast room, family room, pantry and laundry room are all one tile surface.

Vivi likes the work done so far!
We got our garage door installed (no hardware or trim yet!)
Unfortunately the scourge of humanity decided to pay us a visit during the week.
As reported in the news, copper thefts are on the rise due to the raw material being worth $4 a pound. So someone decided to pay us a visit Sunday night and take all they could get. Luckily for us and our neighbor, we didn't really have much copper of any significance. They stole our temporary power line from the transformer to the house (thick copper wire) and the box with plugs in it to power things. They just cut it off at the meter and dragged it to their truck (the trail was obvious in the soft dirt, down to the mixed tire treads on their crapwagon and footprints).
Luckily for us the city is ready to tie down the power to our meter on the house and we can get our 'lectricity that way. If they would just get out here and do it! Probably would help without the 4" of rain we just got.
Finally we picked our brick and rock so it can be ordered! During the torrential rain our builder drove us around to several neighborhoods and we made some choices. I had to go back today in the dry and take pics and make sure it still looked good in the bright daylight! It does...
Luckily for us (probably not luck, the way things are going it is like we are being guided) the house with the brick we like and the house with the stone we picked are across the street from each other...
This house has the brick we chose (you can see different finishes of it on the front of the house and in the entryway arch)

This is the stone we've picked:

So with that picked hopefully it can get ordered soon, trim carpenters start Monday, and cabinets will probably be in the following week! Tomorrow we should be picking our front door and look at some countertops. It's getting closer all the time!

Wow! Things are really moving now! How exciting. I'm sure it seems much faster on my end cause I haven't checked the blog in a month or so! Things are looking great. Love the wood floors!
Miss you guys,
Jamie, Ryan & Delphi
We miss y'all too! There will be plenty of room for guests, by about July! Vivi would love to show Delphi her two bunnies and pet duck. xoxo
